Author's Notes: No, I have no idea where this came from. Yes, I do realize that it probably makes no sense whatsoever. Am I going to write it anyway? You betcha. ;) For those who decide that they want to stick around... well, needless to say, I hope that you enjoy the ride. (And as for that 'AU (kinda)' comment: you'll find out what I mean soon enough~)

Summary: He tastes bitter, like dark chocolate, but Sebastian knows that that is only apt.
Author's Notes: I wanted to write this because of how Faustian the anime and manga for Kuroshitsuji are--but the huge, glaring difference between the end of the play and the end of the anime series in how each contracted human reacts. At the end of The Tragic History of Doctor Faustus, Faustus cries out: "My God, my God, look not so fierce on me! [...] Ugly hell gape not! Come not, Lucifer! I'll burn my books--ah, Mephastophilis!" The human regrets his choice and is frantic for any ending except for the one that he has picked. With Ciel...? That doesn't happen. Not at all.
Dedication: This one is, again, dedicated to my Lily. -chuus- (And I promise that I'll write you your Sebastian/Ciel smut soon, too! -laughs-)

Author's Notes: [Short ficlet.] I've been thinking about writing something like this since the first episode--the chibi ending certainly offers inspiration!--but couldn't really think of a reason for it until chapter twenty-seven of the manga and the suspicions solidified (and totally reminded me [somewhat, not completely for obvious reasons] of the Count Cain manga~). :x Anyway, the ficlet is indeed short and geared more towards being a 'mood' piece than anything else.

Summary: The lesson of History: to learn from the mistakes of the past. The lesson of Literature: to never commit those mistakes in the first place.
Author's Notes: So. I was bored and decided to look up name meanings because I'm an odd little Neko-chan like that. Seeing as how I adore Sebastian, I decided to look up Sebastian first. The results were 'man from Sebaste'--not too interesting, I agree. The other meaning for Sebastian was 'venerable,' which can mean any of the following: commanding respect because of great age or impressive dignity; a title for someone proclaimed by the Roman Catholic Church to have attained the first degree of sanctity or of an Anglican archdeacon; hallowed by religious, historic, or other lofty associations...... and my favorite: extremely old or obsolete. -cracks up- There's also stories about an old Roman soldier who become a saint after he was martyred for his faith--obviously, his name was Sebastian. Obviously, these interpretations intrigued me, so I went searching for 'Ciel,' whose name means 'sky' in French, as well as from Heaven or Heavenly. Tie all of those meanings together and then add in a dash of The Tragic History of Doctor Faustus (by Christopher Marlowe) and the idea that literature in early times was supposed to both instruct and entertain... well. This idea came about.
--- On a side note, The Tragic History of Doctor Faustus is totally my favorite non-Modern play, and I will freely admit that I'm geeking out all over the place in this. -attempts to look innocent and not at all like an English major nerd- If you haven't yet read the play and are a fan of Kuroshitsuji, definitely check it out. You'll probably see lots of similarities~~

Author's Notes: This very short drabble's idea came to me during episode seven and eight, particularly in episode seven when Sebastian is talking about how he doesn't like dogs because of how loyal they are. As someone whose family owns four dogs and twelve cats... well, I like cats more and I can totally understand this reasoning. XD Besides that, Sebastian reminds me of a cat. And since Sebastian reminds me of a cat... perhaps Ciel's preferences lie more towards the feline than the canine, right~?

We were asked to write three poems that circled around memories from childhood and then one poem focused on the five senses (poem: the feeling of melting snow dripping down your back). Yes, two of the childhood poems are Not Happy, but--then again--Scorpios have a tendency of focusing on the Not Happy when they're particularly upsetting. :|

Anyway. I suck at poetry. Needless to say, poems are shit.
